The Knightdale Knights were the 65-60 winner over the Enloe Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Knightdale opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-49 loss to Enloe. That's two games in a row now that Knightdale has lost by exactly 12 points.
Loss or not, Knightdale got some senior leadership from Jason Dickerson who scored 16 points and Jadon Williams who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamari Williams, who scored four points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Enloe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gianni McIntire, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five assists. McIntire also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Gift Moses, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Knightdale has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Enloe, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10.
Knightdale will be playing at home against Sanderson at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Sanderson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. Enloe's road trip will continue as they head out to face Southeast Raleigh at 1:30 p.m. on January 6th. Southeast Raleigh is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
