Argonaut extended the longest winning streak in Mother Lode this week by beating Summerville, 20-14. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Mustangs.
The Bears moved up to 301 from 357 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Summerville climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Argonaut 20-14.
Calaveras's dynamic duo of Zack Johnson and Christian Moore proved tough for Linden to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Johnson threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns and Moore had 118 yards receiving. Brian Golston helped Calaveras' passing attack out by catching two balls for 54 yards.
Tanner Krieg was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 87 yards as Ben Watson's team defeated the Lions. Teammate Jesse Roberson added to the ground attack by rushing for 13 yards.
Calaveras' Johnson and Moore have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Mother Lode in both passing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 1118 yards this season, while Moore has 14 catches for 350 yards. Krieg from the Bears leads the league in rushing with 861 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jason Weatherby's team takes on Summerville. The Redskins are currently in third, while the Bears are in second.
There should be lots of points scored when Calaveras and Summerville face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Redskins comes in having scored 229 this season, while the Bears have scored 252. Calaveras scored 39 points last week as it beat Linden.
The Redskins and Mark Miller's team played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Redskins eventually emerging with a 39-34 victory. Johnson in the win.
