The Milaca Wolves were the 71-66 winner over the Foley Falcons when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Milaca's tough 74-52 loss to Foley on Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Milaca can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while Foley is ranked 130th).
When it comes to explaining why Milaca lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brock Talberg. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Talberg's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hasz, who scored 14 points.
Milaca bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Foley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milaca will take on Braham at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Foley, they will be playing at home against Rush City at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
