Estacada has gone 9-1 against Molalla recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rangers will welcome the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Estacada is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Estacada lost 11-5 to Cascade on Thursday. The Rangers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Laney Briones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and ten unearned) runs on 13 hits.
At the plate, Harlee Vader made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Bunyard, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
While Molalla didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on North Marion with a sharp 13-2 win on Thursday. Considering the Indians have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooklyn Brady made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Molalla got a massive performance out of Brenna Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Berlyn Lister, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Molalla was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Molalla has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Estacada, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Estacada has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Molalla struggles in that department as they've averaged .473. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Estacada got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Molalla by a conclusive 16-4 score. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
