On Saturday, Mammoth came up short against Pyramid Lake and fell 48-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mammoth has scored all season.
Mammoth's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Jones, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Jones is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Forest Daniels, who scored 14 points.
Takoda Rivers was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds for Pyramid Lake. That makes it five consecutive games in which Rivers has scored at least 25% of Pyramid Lake's points. Another player making a difference was Cash Hall, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Mammoth's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Pyramid Lake, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mammoth will take on Rosamond at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Rosamond is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.1 points per game. Pyramid Lake and Lowry will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
