After a string of four wins, the Vianney Golden Griffins's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 71-56 bruising from Collinsville. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Nick Horras, who scored 24 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds for Collinsville. Another player making a difference was Jamorie Wysinger, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Vianney's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Collinsville, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.
Vianney will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Marquette at 6:45 p.m. Marquette will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Vianney is ranked 13th). Collinsville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lift for Life Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th.
