Grafton is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Scituate is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Grafton Gators will take on the Scituate Sailors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Grafton walked away with it. They walked away with a 17-6 victory over Marblehead on Friday.
Among those leading the charge was Finn Gilmore, who rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Gilmore really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Grafton's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Austin McCormick was the leader with two sacks.
Meanwhile, Scituate narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Holliston 27-24.
Scituate can attribute much of their success to Lawson Foley, who picked up 210 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Jackson Thomas Belsan, who threw for 349 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.9 yards per attempt.
Grafton's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Scituate, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
