McKeel Academy got a good showing from Tristan Blomeley, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Blomeley didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Four Corners was not the first on the board last Monday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Ridge Community. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Bolts recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Cameron Morgan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Morgan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mateo Torres, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ronaldo Rivera, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Four Corners' victory bumped their record up to 8-3-1. As for McKeel Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. McKeel Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Four Corners struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
