Football Recap: Bunker Hill Starts Season with Victory at Home

Bunker Hill gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Draughn Wildcats to the tune of 46-6. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Wildcats are ranked 220th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eli Helms threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Drayton Jefferson was his top target, picking up 101 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, JP Parsons rushed for 56 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Bunker Hill will head out on the road to face off against St. Stephens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Draughn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Freedom at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
