Stanley extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 5-2. They came out on top against the Captain Shreve Gators by a score of 7-2. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Gators, too.
Riley Palmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Braelyn Weeks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaci Springer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
As for Captain Shreve, they moved to 4-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but Stanley's pitcher proved too tough.
On Captain Shreve's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Hendrick, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.
Stanley has already played their next matchup (against Haughton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Captain Shreve, they will square off against Florien at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
