Newberry extended their home winning streak to five games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Brandy Whitfield. The Panthers claimed a resounding 71-24 victory over the Trenton Tigers thanks in part to Whitfield, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten steals. Her big performance that evening made it 28 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Rihanna Chiever was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals. Chiever is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Newberry's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Trenton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Newberry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-27 victory against Eastside on the 6th. As for Trenton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 51-43 defeat against Taylor County on the 9th.
