The McDowell Titans put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against R-S Central as McDowell made off with a 65-43 victory. Given McDowell's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while R-S Central is ranked 551st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jaurice Ledbetter was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Rylan Parkins, who scored 9 points.
McDowell's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for R-S Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDowell will challenge Avery County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for R-S Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Erwin at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
