 Even though they lost, Eagle Point  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thurston struck out five times.
 Meanwhile, Springfield made easy work of Ashland  on Tuesday and carried off  a  10-3 win.
 Eagle Point's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Springfield, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups,  which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record  this season.
