It was a good run, but The Heritage Huskies unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 38-14 defeat to Rolesville might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Rolesville is ranked eighth).
Heritage's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brandon Crutchfield, who picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown. Tavares Carter was another key contributor, picking up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Devon Thomas, who rushed for 242 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 96 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Thomas' longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards. Rolesville also got help from Jaedon Alford who showed off his sure hands for 102 receiving yards.
Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Rolesville, their victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
Heritage will head out on the road to face off against Millbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Millbrook has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 138 points over their last three matchups. As for Rolesville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Purnell Swett at 7:00 p.m.
