The Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls waltzed into their contest on Sunday with two straight wins but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Conwell-Egan Catholic 67-26 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Archbishop Ryan has managed all season.
Archbishop Ryan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Thomas Sorber out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Sorber is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 18 games he's played. Darren Williams was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Archbishop Ryan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Ryan will take on the Friars/Pandas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully the Raiders and Ragdolls like a good challenge. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against the Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
