The Highland Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 47-14 loss at the hands of Deary. Highland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.
Highland's loss came despite strong showings from Shyanne Stamper and Laney Bovey. Stamper scored 2 points along with 11 rebounds, while Bovey scored 0 points.
Highland bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Deary, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Highland will head out on the road to face off against Kendrick at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Deary, they will be playing at home against Genesee at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Genesee's defense has only allowed 27.8 points per game this season, so Deary's offense will have their work cut out for Deary.
