I Sunset - Southwest recap Nov. 7, 2012
Bishop Gorman extended the longest winning streak in I Sunset - Southwest this week by beating Shadow Ridge, 78-13. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Bishop Gorman took down the Mustangs 78-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Anu Solomon threw for 157 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 18 yards in the win.
Tony Sanchez's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Nathan Starks chipped in 206 yards. Jamir Tillman helped Bishop Gorman's passing attack out by catching three balls for 35 yards.
Ryan Smith was the best wideout in the league this week as the Gaels bested Shadow Ridge. Smith tallied four receptions for 56 yards.
Bishop Gorman's Solomon and Tillman have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Solomon has thrown for 2059 yards this season, while Tillman, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 41 catches for 625 yards. Legacy's Charles Julian leads the league in rushing yards with 1672.
The Gaels led I Sunset - Southwest in scoring this week after putting up 78 points on Frank Tousa's team. Solomon in the win.
