There's no place like home for the Creekview Grizzlies, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They secured a 66-61 W over Woodstock on Friday. Given Creekview's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Wolverines are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Amilya Taft (sy) continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Kailyn Hamby was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Woodstock's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morghan Slater, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was bree rogers, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Creekview is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Woodstock, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-15.
Creekview will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Chiefs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodstock, they will be playing at home against the Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Allatoona is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
