Tuscarawas Valley is a perfect 4-0 against Hiland since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tuscarawas Valley has 17 straight wins, Hiland has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Tuscarawas Valley's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Ridgewood by a score of 5-0.

The result came thanks to Brennen Reichman's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elliott Wallick, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Arieana Wade, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Mansfield Christian hit Hiland with a five-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flames.
Makayla Beachy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Alissa Yoder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Jalyn Immel also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Tuscarawas Valley's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Hiland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
Hiland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tuscarawas Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Hiland, though, as they've been averaging 12.4 hits. Given Tuscarawas Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Hawks will need to find a way to close that gap.
Tuscarawas Valley took their victory against Hiland in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
