The Arrowhead Christian Eagles will challenge the Beaumont Cougars at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday. The last three games Arrowhead Christian has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Having struggled with four  losses in a row, Arrowhead Christian  turned things around against Linfield Christian  on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lions  a   1-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Eagles have posted  since May 7, 2024.

 Bobby Mahoney tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Arrowhead Christian is 3-1 when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 3-6 otherwise.
 At the plate,  Diesel Toth was  excellent,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run. That  home run was  his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Beaumont was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat. They came up short against  Citrus Valley, falling  8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss the Cougars have suffered  against the Blackhawks since March 9, 2023.
 Beaumont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Alex Diaz, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Beaumont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Arrowhead Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
 Beaumont's hitters will have their work cut out for them  on Saturday. Arrowhead Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.5  strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Beaumont, though, as  they've been averaging  only 4.1  strikeouts. Will Arrowhead Christian keep running through batters, or will Beaumont buck the trend?
