After both having extra time off, the Camas Papermakers and the Prairie Falcons will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Camas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Camas and Heritage, and Camas kept the tradition alive. The Papermakers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Timberwolves an 18-0 shutout last Thursday. Considering the Papermakers have won three games by more than 14 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayda Peterson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Camas got a massive performance out of Hayden Wiest, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Wiest also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Chambers, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.
Camas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Prairie made sure to put some runs up on the board against WF West last Thursday. The Falcons came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 10-5.
Like Camas, Prairie also got a great game from a two-way player: Mackenzie Moore. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave Moore a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 5-for-5.
In other batting news, Prairie let Kayla Scholl and Kellie Cady run wild. Scholl scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5, while Cady went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Scholl has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Palmer, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
The win got Camas back to even at 3-3. As for Prairie, their record now sits at 4-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Camas hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game. However, it's not like Prairie struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Camas might still be hurting after the 17-6 defeat they got from Prairie when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Papermakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
