The Monroe Bearcats will head out to take on the Cedar Park Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroe is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Monroe lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Everett, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's contest. The Bearcats put the hurt on the Seagulls with a sharp 15-3 victory on Wednesday. The match marked the Bearcats' most dominant win of the season so far.
Addy Bryant made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Vivian Knuckey was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella Brittingham, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Cedar Park Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They fell just short of Shorewood by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.
Like Monroe, Cedar Park Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Shelby Southard. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 7.2 innings pitched. Southard was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double.
Monroe's record is now 6-4. As for Cedar Park Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Monroe has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Cedar Park Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Monroe came out on top in a nail-biter against Cedar Park Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
