1A-1 Region I District 2 recap October 1, 2013
Sundown moved up to 828 from 892 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A-1 Region I District 2. The Roughnecks were able to move up by topping Farwell 36-26.
New Deal extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Sudan, 27-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Lions.
Tahoka's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tristan Hilger threw for 72 and 3 touchdowns and Isiah Vega had 45 yards receiving. On the ground Dillon Trevino chipped in 106 yards.
Trevino provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Bulldogs beat Plains.
Vega was the best wideout in the league this week as Tahoka beat the Cowboys.
Tahoka's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hilger has thrown for 334 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Kordell Baker has 7 catches for 144 yards.
John Cornelius' team took down Plains 39-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hilger during the win.
