Even though the Roosevelt Rough Riders have not done well against the Woodridge Bulldogs recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Roosevelt managed a 51-46 win over Woodridge. The victory was nothing new for Roosevelt as they're now sitting on four straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roosevelt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grant Leslie, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Anthony Helton was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Roosevelt's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Woodridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Roosevelt will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodridge will finish 2023 at home by hosting Wadsworth at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wadsworth is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
