The Hancock Central Bulldogs won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-43 walloping at the hands of Johnson County. Hancock Central has struggled against the Trojans recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Jaliyah Hargrove and Key'Nya Scott certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hargrove scored 13 points, while Scott scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hargrove has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Johnson County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keondria Jenkins, who scored 16 points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Curmya Blair, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five steals.
Hancock Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Johnson County, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hancock Central will square off against the Cobras at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Johnson County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
