The Blytheville Chickasaws had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They managed a 30-24 victory over Trumann. For Blytheville, this counts as revenge for the 31-15 defeat Trumann walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Trumann still got an impressive performance from Jake Osment, who rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns. Osment is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Blytheville's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Harrisburg (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Trumann, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blytheville will take on Pocahontas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pocahontas will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Trumann, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rivercrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rivercrest has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 243 points over their last five contests.
