Dexter has gone 8-2 against Tecumseh recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Dreadnaughts will head out to take on the Indians at 6:00 p.m. Dexter's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Tecumseh's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Dexter is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Lincoln just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Railsplitters. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Dreadnaughts couldn't push the score so high this time.
Dexter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chance Sobbry, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Tecumseh waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Panthers.
Max Roehrig tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Clement, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Palmer Ziemer was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one double.
Tecumseh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.8.
Tecumseh's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Dexter, their loss dropped their record down to 21-8.
Dexter took their victory against Tecumseh in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Dreadnaughts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
