Martin County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the North East Carolina Prep Husky with a sharp 13-6 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 last Tuesday.
Erica Sturgill made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Rylah Ethridge was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Ty'Hiera Wooten was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
