Colonial Heights is 1-9 against the Royals since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Colonial Heights Colonials will head out on the road to square off against the Prince George Royals at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Colonial Heights ended up a good deal behind the Knights and lost 67-51. Colonial Heights has not had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Tj Freeman, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Ackerman, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Prince George's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 76-41 defeat at the hands of Dinwiddie. While losing is never fun, Prince George can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Generals are ranked 129th).
Colonial Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Prince George, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Colonial Heights took their win against the Royals when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 73-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colonial Heights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
