The Fayette County Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past McIntosh with points to spare, taking the game 50-36. Given Fayette County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while McIntosh is ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Christian McAllister, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Rutley, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Fayette County's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.6 points per game. As for McIntosh, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-8 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Fayette County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Huffman at 1:00 p.m. on December 19th. McIntosh won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Newnan at 5:00 p.m. on December 16th.
