Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A recap Oct. 30, 2012
Gwynn Park extended the longest winning streak in Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A this week by beating Forestville Military Academy, 48-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Largo was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Lions defeated Central 28-22.
Thomas Corbett put up the best numbers through the air as Friendly defeated Crossland. He finished with four completions for 93 yards and three touchdowns. Corbett's favorite target this week was RaVon Davis, who caught one pass for 55 yards.
CHRISTOPHER MARSH was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 138 yards on 17 carries as the Falcons lost to Douglass. DEVYN CANNON also contributed to the rushing game with 71 yards on the ground.
Greene was the best wideout in Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A this week as the Hornets lost to the Eagles. Greene tallied three receptions for 85 yards. Gary Brown helped Surrattsville's passing attack out by catching one ball for 14 yards.
On the ground, the Knights' Marcel Joly has rushed for 693 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jourdan Ginyard. The Forestville Military Academy star has 29 catches for 545 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Douglass takes on the Patriots. JC Pinkney's team is in second place, while Friendly is in fourth place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and the Patriots face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Douglass comes in having scored 310 this season, while Friendly has scored 242. The Eagles scored 44 points last week as they topped Surrattsville.
Potomac took down Fairmont Heights 60-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
