Lordsburg's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Capitan Tigers with a sharp 19-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Lordsburg let Justin Platz and David Valarde run wild. Platz went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Valarde got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Platz a new career-high. Victor Valdez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Lordsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lordsburg now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Capitan, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Lordsburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
