They strolled past Stone Mountain with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 21-6. This was payback for Midtown, who suffered a 22-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Ethan Ward threw for 79 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Traevan Jones rushed for 40 yards.
Midtown's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Stone Mountain, their loss was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midtown will take on Johnson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Johnson is ranked 390th, while Midtown is ranked 405th). As for Stone Mountain, they will play host again and welcome Druid Hills, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Druid Hills is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
