The Wiggins Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wiggins will bounce into Monday's match after beating Limon, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Badgers on Tuesday.

Wiggins let Carston Johnson and Isaac Flores run wild. Johnson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Flores went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those two doubles gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Wiggins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Dayspring Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Denver Academy on Saturday, but Denver Academy never followed suit. They blew past the Mustangs 11-0. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Not much got past Owen Steward, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Denver Academy off the board. Steward has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kai Polk, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Gavin Bohl was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Dayspring Christian Academy pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Wiggins, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wiggins has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Dayspring Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Wiggins might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Dayspring Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
