The Riverview Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell to Serra Catholic 65-60. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Riverview in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.
Isiah Petty continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Serra Catholic, scoring 29 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Petty has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Pete Burke, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
Riverview has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Serra Catholic, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview will take on the Commodores at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Serra Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Jayhawks at 4:30 p.m. on February 3rd. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Kymone Brown and Petty.
