Florence is 1-6 against the Panthers since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Florence Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Woodland Park Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Florence lost to the Mustangs on the road by a decisive 63-49 margin.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Noah Howard, who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Gage Goodall was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Woodland Park's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 76-44 loss at the hands of Banning Lewis Academy. While losing is never fun, Woodland Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Stallions are ranked 59th).
Florence has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Woodland Park, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
Things could have been worse for Florence, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-40 loss to the Panthers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Florence avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
