Softball Recap: Grass Lake Picks Up 14th Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Grass Lake had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the St. Mary Catholic Central Falcons/Kestrels with a sharp 9-3 win. Considering the Warriors have won 28 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Grass Lake's 14th in a row) raised their record to 35-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for St. Mary Catholic Central, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6-1.

Grass Lake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-4 victory against Columbia Central on the 7th. Hopefully St. Mary Catholic Central paid attention to the Warriors' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
