Basketball Recap: Falls Lake Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

If East Wake Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Falls Lake, they should've done a better job of containing Jeneen Mason. The Falls Lake Firebirds had just enough and edged the East Wake Academy Eagles out 53-51 thanks in part to Mason, who went 10 of 21 en route to 24 points. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 21 points.

Camille Murray was another key player, putting up six points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Falls Lake is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for East Wake Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

The future could be bright for both Falls Lake and East Wake Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Falls Lake will try to hand Raleigh Charter their eighth-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, East Wake Academy will look to extend Research Triangle's 17-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
