Frankfort extended their winning streak to 12 on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 12-0 in the process. They put the hurt on the Lincoln Cougars with a sharp 9-3 win. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Avery Noel was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tayler Likens was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Claire Westfall, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Frankfort was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in three consecutive contests.
As for Lincoln, they dropped their record down to 9-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.
On Lincoln's side, Aspen Dyer was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Riley Pearlman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Coincidentally, Frankfort and Lincoln will both be playing Sissonville the next time they take the field. The Falcons will head out to face the Indians at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
