The North Summit Braves will head out on the road to square off against the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Summit has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 205 points over their last three matches.
North Summit only won by two when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 26-point they dealt North Sevier on Wednesday. North Summit was the clear victor by a 63-37 margin over North Sevier. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win North Summit has managed all season.
North Summit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trevor Richins led the charge by scoring eight points along with six steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Jake Smith, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Gunnison Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against North Sevier last Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gunnison Valley.
North Summit has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Gunnison Valley, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
North Summit beat Gunnison Valley 58-49 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Summit since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
