This season hasn't been kind to the Henninger Black Knights, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 97-62 loss at the hands of Rome Free Academy. While losing is never fun, Henninger can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while Rome Free Academy is ranked 27th).
It was another big night for Uzziah Grimes, who scored 37 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals for Rome Free Academy. Grimes is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Deandre Neal was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 13 steals and five rebounds.
Henninger's loss was their eighth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-10. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Rome Free Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Henninger won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fulton at 6:45 p.m. on January 19th. Fulton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 743 points over their last ten contests. Rome Free Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Oneida at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th.
