Volleyball Recap: Vela Has No Trouble Against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial

Vela won the last time they faced Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Sabercats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wolverines. The contest marked the Sabercats' most dominant win of the season.

Vela walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-6, 25-17, 25-18.

Madeleine Leudeker paced Vela's offense, picking up 11 kills. Leudeker got some help from Lauren Hanson and her 34 assists. Abryella Ysquierdo and Ameryss Gonzalez kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Vela has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Vela and Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial will both be playing Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North the next time they take the court. The Sabercats will host the Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wolverines will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
