Tri-State Christian fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Morning Star Academy on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Morning Star Academy Mustangs 63-58. One positive for the Huskies, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Tri-State Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nehemiah Smith, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds, and Sam Fernandes, who went 8 of 14 en route to 17 points. The dominant performance gave Fernandes a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Noah Duenser, who posted seven points along with five assists and three blocks.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Tri-State Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Morning Star Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances.
