There's no place like home for the Arapahoe Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They pulled ahead with a 36-35 photo finish over Southwest. This was payback for Arapahoe, who suffered a 58-47 loss the last time these two teams met.
Arapahoe was led to victory by Clara Hilker and Berkley Warner. Hilker scored seven points, while Warner scored 19 points along with nine steals and eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Warner has scored at least 25% of Arapahoe's points.
Southwest lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kyra Nelms, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Anastasia Gallegos, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Southwest were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Arapahoe's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Southwest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
Arapahoe will head out on the road to face off against Northern Valley on Tuesday. Southwest will be home for the holidays to greet Southern Valley on Tuesday.
