Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Tesoro's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 61-48 to San Juan Hills. While losing is never fun, Tesoro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while San Juan Hills is ranked 120th).
Meanwhile, Capistrano Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Clemente.
Tesoro has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Capistrano Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Tesoro and Capistrano Valley were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but Tesoro came up empty-handed after a 40-39 loss. Can Tesoro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
