After both having extra time off, the Mt. Markham Mustangs and the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mt. Markham had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Adirondack by a score of 52-45 on December 5th.
Meanwhile, Sherburne-Earlville had already won two in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on December 12th. They walked away with a 49-37 victory over Adirondack.
Mt. Markham's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Sherburne-Earlville, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Everything went Mt. Markham's way against Sherburne-Earlville when the teams last played back in January as Mt. Markham made off with a 47-25 win. Does Mt. Markham have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sherburne-Earlville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
