Sutter extended the longest winning streak in Butte View this week by beating Gridley, 62-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Huskies.
Orland moved up to 399 from 476 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of topping Las Plumas 52-12.
Wheatland's dynamic duo of Jackson Hopking and Jordan Samson proved tough for Red Bluff to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hopking threw for 113 yards and one touchdown and Samson had 134 yards receiving. Joel Johnson helped Wheatland's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.
Seth Millington made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Pirates lost to the Spartans. The 5-foot-11 senior pulled down one interception.
Chris Mayes provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Winters topped Oroville. He completed four passes for 106 yards and also ran for 161 yards. Mayes' favorite target this week was Ben Case, who caught three passes for 74 yards.
Wheatland's Hopking and Samson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hopking has thrown for 928 yards this season, while Samson, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 25 catches for 553 yards. Mayes from the Warriors leads the league in rushing with 809 yards.
A big matchup in Butte View this week will be when Winters takes on Neil Stinson's team. As it stands, Daniel Ward's team is in fourth, while the Pirates are in second.
Sutter took down the Bulldogs 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Matthew Silvera in the win.
