The Southwestern Warriors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They skirted past Madison Central  55-52. This was payback for Southwestern, who suffered a  62-48  loss the last time these two teams met.
  Payton  Acey continued  her habit of posting crazy stat lines,  scoring 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which  she has scored at least 25% of Southwestern's points.  Kinsley Molden was another key contributor,  scoring ten points along with seven  rebounds.
 Southwestern is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Madison Central, they now  have a losing record at 6-7.
 Southwestern will be staying on the road  on Monday to face off against McCreary Central at 7:30  p.m.  on January 8th. McCreary Central will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Southwestern is ranked 48th). As for Madison Central, they will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against Anderson County at 7:30  p.m.
