Olathe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jeyden Estrada, who scored 15 points, and Miguel Vargas who scored 14 points. That's the first time this season that Estrada scored 15 or more points. Isaiah Gordon was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Leading Grand Valley to victory were Andrew Horner and Porter Ostermiller. Horner dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Ostermiller shot 4-for-8 from long range and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Horner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Fredrich, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Olathe has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Grand Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-7.
Olathe's homestand continues as they prepare to take on West Grand at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. West Grand is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Grand Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Meeker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meeker has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 246 points over their last four matchups.
