Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Jamerrius Anthony's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cortez over Phoenix Christian
Starting off the list is Cortez's Jamerrius Anthony, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Anthony rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
This year, Anthony has thrown 1 touchdown (and no picks) while averaging 19.6 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 18.88 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 71.38 rushing yards.

Michael Anthony Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Another Cortez player making an appearance on this list is Michael Anthony. He rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (100.2) per game. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making nine total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Anthony is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Kingman Academy on Friday. When Anthony last faced the Tigers back in October of 2023, he rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry.

Big Game from Calini As Highland Prep Fell 28-16
While Aeden Calini delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Highland Prep. Calini was dynamite, picking up 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Highland Prep's success: when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns the team is 3-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).
Unfortunately for Kingman Academy, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Calini. Calini picked up 175 receiving yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Tigers duked it out back in October of 2023.

Z'yeon Rondan Delivers Electric Performance Vs Cortez
Z'Yeon Rondan was instrumental in extending Phoenix Christian's winning streak to five on Friday. Cortez had no answer to Rondan as he rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns.
If history really does repeat itself, Rondan might just drop another big game when he faces off against Mountainside on Friday. When Rondan last faced the Wolves back in October of 2023, he rushed for 49 yards and three touchdowns.
